Uncle Tommy is here

Thursday night Uncle Tommy came to visit from NY. We were supposed to get him from the airport, but I had other ideas. It was late, I was hungry - mom tried but it didn't work you. Anyway, he is great - he loves to hold me and is good at changing diapers and helping mom. It is his birthday today so we just made him a cake and will go out for dinner later on today. I hear from my little cousins Ava, Olivia and Madeline that Firemen are the way to go! I'll admit, I think they are right, he is pretty cool!

I like him so much I even let him see my poop face....

A Second Date

You might remember that last week I had my first date (with an older man!) but that it didn't go so well. Well, after waiting patiently he called and asked me to come over for a nap - now we are speaking the same language. Things went great - we went to Whole Foods for lunch, went back to his place, took a nap together. All in all, a great second date, which also happened to be on my 3rd birthday! Things are looking up. I think I'll invite him over for the Superbowl this weekend.

Busted!

Got caught sucking my thumb!

A Visit from Grandad

The last few days have been great. I got to meet my grandad - he is my dad's dad. He is so nice - he held me all day long and sang songs to me. He thinks I am going to be a right-handed golfing doctor when I grow up. He also brought me my first blue box...

He and Grandma Mimi left today to go home to Indianapolis. Everyone was sad to say goodbye which seems to be a pattern around here. Before they left, we sang happy birthday to Grandad and apparently I am his present this year!

Now it is just the three of us. We've had a nice relaxing day today. We took a walk to the mailbox and caught up on some TV.

A lot has happened in two weeks

Things have been busy as usual around here.

Grandma Mimi came last Friday. She is my dad's mom and she is awesome. She loves to hold me and play with the dogs. I think the dogs really like her too, since they always want to be near here. I don't blame them. She has been helping my mom and dad a lot around the house.

The day after she arrived my other Grandma left for NY (how lucky am I, two Grandma's!!!). My mom and I were so sad. Mom cried a lot. We called Grandma and Grandpa on Skype today and they got to see how much I've grown. Grandma thinks that I am losing some of my hair. I just wish the hair on my butt would fall off.

Over the weekend we went to Mom and Dad's favorite local restaurant, Nonna's. Mom wore me in her wrap and I was very comfy while they ate brunch. While I was in there, I grabbed onto mom's necklace. She thought it was very cute...
I also watched the Steelers Playoff Game - Go Steelers!

My dad and Grandma took me for a walk and I got to check out where we live. And we also took a drive down the coast with mom for some more sun and fresh air.

And, I just lifted by head really high while laying on dad's chest. For some reason that stirred up a lot of excitement. These people are easily amused.

My First Play Date

Dad went back to work today.  I was so sad to see him go.  He should have a quiet day tomorrow and hopefully he'll be home more.

Today I had my first play date with Bryce, Eric and Allison's son. He was born 2 weeks and 2 days before me, which is great because I prefer older babies.

Things started out great....

But I was so sleepy...

Bryce did not like this!  Of well, hope my next play date goes better.

In other news, I found my thumb last night and it fits perfectly in my mouth.  Mom is upset and says she sees braces in my future.

Wednesday, January 14

Last night I was super hungry and got up every two hours or so to eat. Mom asked me to try to eat every two hours during the day and go my usual 3 1/2 to 4 hours at night. Not sure what all the fuss is about.

Mom made a trip to Babies R Us. It was a little much for her so she had a long nap and started returning phone calls to her friends today. Dad stayed home with me alone for the first time and we watched hockey. Mom said "Get used to it Lucy."

Mom read me my first book today, Guess How Much I Love You and I tried out my bouncy chair - I really liked it. Very comfy.

Mom, Dad and Grandma had homemade manicotti. It smelled so good, why didn't they share?

Today's My Birthday

Today is a big day. I was 1 week old at 12:19. I was trying to sleep, but Dad had out the video camera and Grandma got me up so they could sing happy birthday to me.

Time is flying by. I spent the first four days of my life at California Pacific Medical Center. They took such great care of me, mom and dad, that I was a little shocked and disappointed when they put me in a car seat and drove me to a new place.

We got to ride home along the Pacific Ocean on a beautiful day. It was about 70 degrees and sunny.

We've been here for three days and I am getting used to it. Lots of people have been coming by to meet me, I feel very popular. We watched something called football on Sunday. My dad was very excited and I said that I brought the Steerler's a victory. Not sure what that means, but I made the old guy happy.

Today is a quiet day and mom said she is happy to stay in her pajama's and just take care of me today.

I went to the pediatrician yesterday and since Friday night I've gained 9 ounces and grew an inch. I am not quite up to my birthday weight, but Dr. Tucker said I could eat when I want, instead of being on a schedule. Mom thought I might go 4 hours between feedings at night but I decided 2 or 3 hours was enough last night.

So far things are going well here. I met these two dogs that don't seem that interested in me. I had my first bath at home.

My mom rocked me in a swing outside today and I feel asleep in the sun. At night I sleep in mom and dad's room and mom gets up when I do to feed me. Dad does too - he changes my diapers, burps me and sometimes puts me back to sleep. So far these peeps are solid.

Grandpa was here until this morning. He really liked holding me and kept me really warm with lots of blankets. I think he was afraid I would catch a cold. We were all sad to see him leave this morning, especially my mom.

Grandma is still here and has been cooking, cleaning and taking care of my mom. She is awesome.

From what I hear, I have more grandparents and I will meet them this weekend. How lucky am I? I can't wait. I hear their voices over this thing that people keep talking into, but I can't wait to meet them in person. I hear they are really cool.

That's all for now, I feel a nap coming on....
