Ladies Who Lunch

Today Mom and I had a great ladies day. We met our dear friend Sarah for lunch at the new Delfina on Fillmore. We shared fresh hand pulled mozzarella, cannelloni beans and a fancy calzone. While the atmosphere was fun and the food amazing, it wasn't exactly a baby friendly place. I mean they were nice to me, but there wasn't even a changing station in the bathroom. Mom had to change me while I was still in the car seat since she didn't want to put me on that nasty bathroom floor!

After lunch, we got our eyebrows done at Benefit, ran some errands and then headed back to Sarah's house where I had my afternoon snack and got to see Lee. All in all, a great day - we were so happy to spend some time with our friend and do something special.

Countdown to Grandma: 15 hours!

My Favorite Hockey Team

This weekend was really nice. On Sunday I watched a Penguins game with my Dad. He had a talk with me and asked me to give the Pens the same “mojo” that I gave the Steelers. I guess the season is almost done and the Pens aren’t even in the playoffs. I told Dad I would do everything in my power to get them in the playoffs and who know maybe even win the Stanley Cup! I am going to start to nap with my Penguins teddy bear that my Aunt Sara and Uncle Benny game me. That has got help turn things around. Let’s go Pens! I am not sure what that means but my dad sure says it a lot.

After we watched the game, me, Mom and Dad went out for a nice lunch at the Beach Chalet. It had been raining for days and we just had to get out of the house. After lunch we took a drive before heading home. Mom was glad we had a nice family outing since on Monday morning Dad left for NY. We are both so sad, the house feels so empty without him. We've been talking to him on Skype, but it isn't the same. I think he misses us too. The good news is that Grandma comes on Thursday! Yippee!!!

Today Mom and I went to a mom and baby class with Allison and Bryce. We met some nice people and their babies. Tomorrow Mom and I are going to get our eyebrows waxed!

My First Dog Walk

Yesterday was a great day. I went on my first dog walk with Daddy. He felt funny wearing the Baby Bjorn, but I think he looks pretty manly.

I haven’t had a chance to tell you too much about my dogs, because I have been real busy getting to know Mom and Dad. I am a really lucky girl to have two pups to love me and look out for me. There names are Penelope and Porter. Penny is the Siberian Husky and she reminds me a lot of my Mom. She is a high energy, lovable pup that you also don’t want to mess with! Porter reminds me a lot of my dad - cute and mellow, super sweet, likes to relax and loves to get pet.

Now that mom is feeling back to herself, she promises me long walks with Penny along the Pacific Ocean. I can't wait!

Baby Body Issues

I've been away from my computer for a few days, it's been a tough week. First, Auntie Jenny left. That sucked, I was so sad to see her go. I really got used to her holding me and taking care of me. After that, I got a cold. Can you believe it? I am only 6 weeks old! Sneezing and coughing sucks. Mom took me to the pediatrician after I puked all over myself - literally covered from head to toe. Mom said it reminded her of a certain New Year's Eve...not sure what that means. And to top it all off, mom got really sick on Thursday. Luckily Dad could take the day off to take care of both of us. We are really lucky.

So the cool thing about going to the Doctor is that I get weighed. Now I am 11.2 pounds. Must be what is helping me sleep a little longer at night. One night I even went 7 hours!

Speaking of weight, I have a little frustration to vent. I know that I am in the 75% and all, but come on already with the clothing sizes! Grandad got me this really sassy outfit from Nordstrom, a high-end brand that I've never heard of. Mom was looking at it the other day and thought, wow, this says 6 months in the tag but it looks like it might fit. Well, it does. Come on, I am 6 weeks, not 6 months! Mom said it is like designer jeans; you may be a size 6 at Banana Republic but a 12 in Seven Jeans. I can still wear some of my NB stuff from Carters. What gives?

But I am not going to get caught up in sizes. Who cares, right! I am beautiful inside and out, no matter what the tag says! It is cute, isn't it?

And, by the way, I am starting to totally dig the baby swing!

Happy Valentine's Day

Since Mom and Dad are my first true love, I thought that instead of spending the day with my main squeeze Bryce, I should hang at home with them. To make sure the day started off right, I whipped up a little breakfast in bed. They loved it - I think I scored some major points!!!

Growing Up

Mom decided it was finally time to start me on the bottle. This is great cause Dad can help out and we get to spend some more quality time together. The first bottle, pictured above, took a little getting used to. The next day Mom was a little worried - she and dad were going out for a long Valentine's Day dinner and left me home with Auntie Jenny (awesome!) and a bottle. She was afraid that I wouldn't take it, being that I naturally prefer the boob. But I surprised everyone and took 3 ounces in 5 minutes. I'm no amateur.

Meet the Parents

So I asked Bryce to be my Valentine. I know it was a little forward of me, but come on, it is 2009 and I am a modern baby! He said yes, but insisted that our parents meet before we get to serious (he's got those good southern manners!).

Mom and Dad invited Allison and Eric over for dinner on Friday night. Things went really well, they seemed to enjoy each other's company. They have a lot in common - I think this is a match made in heaven!

My Favorite Auntie

Another visitor! My Auntie Jenny arrived on Tuesday night and we've been having so much fun, I haven't even had time to post. She is great, likes to hold me and is a wiz at changing my diaper. She also knows that I like to be rocked while standing up when I am fussy - she is a natural!

She got to be here for my Dr's appointment yesterday. We got good news - I weight 10 pounds, 8 ounces and am now 22 inches long. The doctor said I am in the 75 percentile. No wonder my newborn diapers and clothes no longer fit. Hopefully mom will stop trying to shove me into them, she seems to be having a hard time with the fact that I am growing up!

25 Random Things About Me

Now that I am one month old, there are a few things that I thought you might want to know about me...

  1. I am a night owl, taking all of my awake time in one long stretch. Sometimes I take it from 9pm - 2am and other times from 6pm - 12am.

  2. I keep getting a pretty bad diaper rash.

  3. To relieve me of said diaper rash, mom and dad rinse my bottom under water and blow my butt dry. I really enjoy having my tush blow dried.

  4. I like to sleep with my arms over my head and have been resisting the swaddle.

  5. However, I sometimes find the swaddle quite comforting.

  6. Speaking of sleep, guess who I talked into letting me sleep in their bed. You got it - Mom and Dad! They are such suckers.

  7. I do not like the baby swing.

  8. Sometimes I like to eat every hour or so, usually at night ;-)

  9. I am growing out of my newborn clothes.

  10. My parents alone have taken well over 1,000 pictures of me and I am hoping the constant flashing doesn't permanently affect my eyesight.

  11. I hate garlic!

  12. I require a manicure at least once a week.

  13. A Mohawk is really the only hairstyle that works with my chubby cheeks.

  14. I don't like being in the fetal position when mom wears me in the Moby Wrap and now prefer the "Cradle Hold."

  15. I am starting to recognize my mom and dad.

  16. My first name is the also the name of my grandmother's sister, whose birthday was my due date (mom and dad had the name picked out before they knew this fact).

  17. My middle name is from a Louis Prima song (Zoom, Zoom, Zoom) about a waitress at a pizzeria.

  18. I really like to sleep belly down on the stomach or chest of anyone who will let me.

  19. I have awesome grandparents and I can't wait to see them all in April!

  20. In order to have me baptized, mom has to start going to church.

  21. I am a huge fan of the Steelers and Penguins!

  22. I sometimes fart for 10 minutes straight.

  23. #22 really amuses my parents.

  24. My diaper is almost always dirty.

  25. I made my mom and dad's life so much better.

Weekend Review

We had another great weekend cause Uncle Tommy visited. He is awesome. He held me a lot and helped mom out around the house when he wasn't playing PlayStation with Dad. He was also the genius who figured out how to loosen the straps on the car seat. THANK YOU UNCLE TOMMY - I was dying in there!

While he was here we had lots of fun. We celebrated his birthday on Saturday...

We had a Superbowl Party on Sunday...

(who is this guy - he will not put me down or let anyone else hold me!)...

We went to check out the Bay Bridge and had lunch at the Ferry Building.

We were all sad to say goodbye - he said he'd come back a lot - I hope he keeps his promise.

P.S. Bryce came to the party - I knew he liked me!

Happy Daddy!

Go Steelers! I seem to be bringing them good luck, they won every game since I was born! Mom says they won because she was wearing her lucky playoff t-shirt - I'll let her believe that.

Big Game Today

Are you ready football fans?! It is Superbowl Sunday and in this house, it is right up there with Christmas and Easter. And since the Steeler's are playing today, my Dad is even more excited. He jumped out of bed at 7am and hasn't been able to settle down since. He looks a little different too; I think it is the football beard he grew this week.

Mom and I had a little talk about what was going to happen today. She said there would be people here drinking beer, which she clearly stated, I am not aloud to have. She said that they would be screaming and yelling as they watched grown men run around in tights chasing a ball. The best advice she gave me was to pretend to like it, even if I don't. That will make dad happy - she said it worked for her!

And who is the Reothlisberger guy anyway? Dad said it is the only man I am aloud to date. Sorry Bryce.
